St Clement’s, Hastings

The project involves the partial removal of the existing pews and plinths with the construction of a level floor, with removable chairs to expand the flexibility of the space and to enhance the sense of light and openness.  Other interventions included the provision of bespoke, fitted furniture for storage and display purposes along with the provision of new glazed doors to the church entrance, to increase the sense of transparency and welcome.

The careful improvement of lighting and heating was also critical to the success of the enhanced space.
