MEET THE TEAM

Mark Anderson

DipArch, RIBA, AABC

Director

 

 

Mark studied at Oxford Brookes, Westminster and Brighton Universities, achieving his professional qualification in 2002.

 

Before joining the practice permanently in 1997, Mark worked in London as design coordinator and project manager for a multi-disciplinary design house producing retail and exhibition spaces.

 

Mark brings an innovative approach to the Practice and as a result of his influence; a more contemporary sensibility has been introduced to the office. Mark is also an experienced Restoration and Church architect, with a prestigious portfolio of conservation projects as well as new build.

 

Many of Mark’s designs skilfully draw together a minimalist contemporary approach with the rich materiality of traditional detail and craftsmanship.

Tim Wells

Director

 

 

Tim is a Chartered Architect with over 20 years’ experience. Tim re-joined John D Clarke Architects early 2018 following 17 years in an Associate Director role for a large London based international Architectural practice, where he led large mixed-use, retail, leisure and residential projects throughout the UK and abroad. Tim studied at the University of Brighton and originally worked at John D Clarke Architects between 1996 and 2000, achieving his professional qualification in 1999.

 

Tim brings extensive experience of master-planning and larger commercial projects to the practice as well as an in-depth knowledge of designing and constructing buildings within sensitive urban environments, historic buildings, conservation, domestic houses and extensions. Tim has a particular expertise in Computer Aided Design (CAD) and Building Information Modelling (BIM), having been the CAD and BIM manager at his previous practice. He is also an Incorporated Member of the Association of Project Safety and can advise on the management of health and safety during the design process.

 

Being Eastbourne born and breed Tim has an excellent knowledge of the local area and is looking forward to spending the time saved from his previous daily commute to London.

Richard Crook

Richard worked with English Heritage in London and as Assistant to the Cathedral Architect at Winchester before returning to Eastbourne (his home town) in 1980.

 

Richard joined the practice in 1987 becoming a Partner in 1995. Richard is a passionate Conservation and Church Architect and continues to earn awards for his painstaking and authentic restorations, conversions and extensions.

 

Richard is a member of the Ecclesiastical Architects & Surveyors Association, The Society for the Protection of Ancient Buildings and The Victorian Society. Richard’s local knowledge is exceptional and he regularly lectures on aspects of Sussex’s built heritage.

Andy Doble

Andy is a qualified Architectural Technologist who has been part of the John D. Clarke team for over 20 years.

 

He has worked on a wide range of contemporary and traditional projects, and brings a strong knowledge of the building regulations and technical detailing to the office. Andy often travels to the far and distance lands, documenting his trips through his passion for photography. Andy is responsible for the office IT.

Ademar Rey

 

 

 

Ademar is a registered architect in the Philippines and has a wealth of international experience in the design and construction management of multi-million pound projects.

 

He has worked in the Philippines, Malaysia and Saipan USA on a variety of major projects such as a 5-level shopping mall with hotel and office towers, public schools, hospitals, public markets and high rise residential condominiums and resorts.

 

Ademar migrated to the UK in 2000 and worked as a freelance designer before joining JDC in 2008. He is fully conversant with UK building regulations and British Standards and provides the practice with a high level of technical knowledge.

 

He also provides invaluable input on the design and specification of both conservation and contemporary projects.
